E2E: Life is Beautiful

Thank you for visiting my blog!  This is a set of cards in my E2E (Easy to Elegant) series.

A few days ago, I watched a UK demonstrator (SlimmandStylish) create the basic card in a YouTube video.  It was so pretty ... I had to CASE it for myself.

So, yesterday I decided to create three versions of the card.  I even went so far as to record the entire process.  Unfortunately, the work was out of the viewing space during the whole recording session <insert sad face here>.  So, here's my explanation of the process:

Thank you!

One can never have too many thank you cards, right?  I am in love with the Peaceful Poppies set that's in our new Mini Catalog.  Did you know that you can use the largest poppy stamp to create a background?  That's exactly what I did with this beautiful card.  I think it would be easy to recreate this card in larger quantites with a variety of colors and different sentiments.

Here's how I did it:

  • A2 card base folded at 4.25"; using the Bone Folder helps to get a really crisp edge to the fold ... I highly recommend using one!
  • Adhered largest poppy stamp from the Peaceful Poppies bundle to a block and then randomly stamped all over the front of the card with Rich Razzleberry ink.  Used the clear Wink of Stella to highlight the center of the flowers.
  • Used the Stampin' Shammy to quickly and completely clean the stamp.
  • Stamped the row of poppies on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black ink using the Stamparatus ... I tend to have a bit of a shake in my hand, and the Stamparatus helps to alleviate any smudges ... gotta love that tool! Adhered the splatter stamp to a block and then stamped with Rich Razzleberry (stamped off on a scrap piece of paper before the final stamping). Jazzed up the flower bases with more Clear Wink of Stella. Trimmed the stamped image.
  • Adhered the stamped image to a scrap of Basic Black cardstock with multipurpose glue and then adhered the two to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Used an Embossing' Buddy on another scrap of Basic Black cardstock and then stamped the thank you greeting from the Woven Heirlooms bundle with Versamark ink. Embossed the sentiment with the white embossing powder and the Heat Tool. Trimmed the ends at an angle with Paper Snips and adhered to the card base with more Stampin' Dimensionals.
