Thinking of You

I started with a thick Basic White card base and then added a layer of Pumpkin Pie that I cut with one of the Ornate Frames dies and then embossed with the Painted Texture3D embossing folder to give it even more character.

I used the stamps from the Natural Textures stamp set. I chose Pacific Point, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay for my colors.  These make for a very cheery card that is sure to bring a smile to the recipient's face.

The flower was cut with the Tulip Builder punch from a scrap of Basic White and colored with Mango Melody blends.  I used Granny Apple Green blends to color the leaf and then used the coordinating colors to stamp off another one of the stamps from Natural Textures to give more dimension to the flower.  The flower and leaf were jazzed up with a swipe of Wink of Stella.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point from the Beauty of Friendship set and cut out with the die from the Beautiful Trees die set.

I used the same stamp to add some interest to the inside of the card.

I hope you enjoy my project.

One can never have too many birthday cards, right?

There's a "secret" flap on the front for the sender to include a message.

There's also a panel inside the main portion of the card for more message.

I'm entering this in the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge #SSC258 using this sketch:

Just Because

I was looking at a FB page that featured cards made by other SU demonstrators.  One was very similar to this card.  I quickly searched to find directions on this card, but everything I found was in the metric system.  Nothing for the US customary measurement system (inches).  Ever the person who doesn't like to be disappointed, I figured out how to do it myself.  When things settle down here (we are in the midst of a full house renovation), I will create another card and upload a video along with dimensions.

Aren't those die cut flowers beautiful? The Perennial Petals dies match the Pretty Perennials stamps and are included in Pretty Perennials bundle. This is such a versatile set!

I chose the "just because" stamp from the Lovely You bundle because my sister asked me to make a card like the one I saw.  I figured that I sent the card just because she asked. Of course, if you only want the stamps, you can get them as well.  But why not get the bundle? For just a few dollars more, you can also get the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch; you'll use it a lot!

Love You More!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  You know that, right? Anyhoo ... I figured it was time to create a card.  I've been looking at various challenge sites to up my creative mojo.  I'm entering this in the following challenges:

My grandson and I have this way of saying that we love each other. I say I love you. He responds I love you more. I respond I love you more and more. He responds I love you more and more and more.

The Love You More Than die from Connie Stewart's Love You More Than set was a perfect match for our little communication.

After die cutting the sentiment, I used my Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends (dark and light) to color the words with an ombre effect.  I used my Triple Banner Punch to cut a notch out of a strip of Whisper White cardstock and adhered the sentiment on it. Next, I used my Wink of Stella to add some shimmer to the sentiment.

I had a strip of Seaside Spray cardstock that I embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I love the way the paper crinkles and really does look old! I added it to a piece of Plaid Tidings cardstock.

Last, I used my Take Your Pick tool to add some enamel dots (retired) to the card to finish it off.

Birthday wishes with Quite Curvy

I always find that I need a birthday card at the drop of a hat.  I was playing with the Quite Curvy stamps and the Curvy Dies bundle, and this is what I came up with. All I need now is a person with an upcoming birthday!

I don't remember what blends I used to color the birds or flowers.  The leaves are Granny Apple Green.

I used some older DSP (Woven Heirlooms) that was in my stash; I used the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder to add some texture to it. The birds and leaves are popped up with Dimensionals.

I finished the card with spatters of Wink of Stella and some pearls that were in my stash.
