Pastels, Pearls, Pretty Papers

Earlier this week I cleaned my craft space.  It was a long time coming, and my dust bunnies were all fashionable because they were wearing glitter.  Summer vacation is my time to recharge, clean, and spend time crafting/reading craft blogs.  There are several blogs that I visit on a regular basis (check my blog list on the right), and I've luxuriated in reading and playing in my space.

Yesterday after I had lunch with some friends, I came home and just played.  I pulled papers and dies and paints and Perfect Pearls and all sorts of goodies from my stash.  This is what I came up with:

I'm loving all of the layers I added.  Papers from Teresa Collins' 6x6 Designer Pad He Said She Said, pearls, die cuts, cheesecloth, paper doilies tinted with Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls.

An image from a set of ephemera that I received for my birthday.

Tiny flowers cut from my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die with pearls added to the centers ... they make me swoon!

A large tag with more swoon-inducing pearls. Add to it a Cheery Lynn Designs B117 Fanciful Flourish Right die that I cut and tucked into various locations on the card.

And a little sentiment tag cut with my Tim Holtz Tag & Tie die as well as a little resin flower gussied up with some Alcohol Inks.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Creative Chemistry 101 - Summer of 2016 week 2

I am taking (actually retaking) Creative Chemistry 101 and 102.  This week's challenge is to work with stains to create backgrounds.  I love how this turned out!

I also am adding two files to a Facebook group that shares Cricut Explore files.  The first file is the background of circles.  I saw a die on a website and figured it would be easy to recreate ... and it was! The second file I am sharing is the hello cut.  There are also several other words in the file as well.

Con"grad"uations!

Our grandniece is graduating from high school tomorrow, and I decided to try my hand at a box card.

The basic box card is from Narelle, one of the members of the Facebook group that I joined.  The cuts are from Miss Kate Cuttables in the Graduation Day file.

I thought it was interesting that the invitation arrived in today's mail, and the little shield from the invitation was perfect to add to the front of the card.

Happy Mother's Day to Becca

Oliver and I created this card for him to give to his mommy for her second Mother's Day.  I saw this card a long time ago and pinned it to my Pinterest account.  However, when I went to check on it, the link didn't take me to the card any more.  What a fun, easy card to create!  And to think I used my Cricut for the entire card except the base.

Mojo Monday 446

It's time to create a new card!  Our family is a real Disney fanatic family, and this card will be great to have in my stash for a quick card.

I'm entering this into this week's Mojo Monday competition #446.
