Merci Beaucoup

The Mojo Monday sketch for this week is perfect!  So perfect, in fact, that I just had to create a card ... and you never know when you'll need a thank you card, so that made it even perfecter (yes, I know that's not a real word).  Here's the sketch for this week's challenge #398:

And here is my interpretation:

I used the merci beaucoup stamp from Verve that I won a while back.  It fit perfectly in the space that was available.  I had a difficult time trying to come up with something to put on the three banners on the top, but when I rummaged through my punches looking for a circle punch, my eyes lit on the flower instead.  Perfect!

Don't forget:  Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right!

VES PTO is the BEST!

The week of May 4-9 was Teacher Appreciation Week.  And, boy, were we teachers appreciated!  They went all out with lunch on Monday and breakfast EVERY MORNING AFTER THAT!  Then on Friday we received coupons for a free massage, a coupon book, and a gift card.  Did I mention that we felt really appreciated?  Well, we were!  So, this is my little thank you card that I whipped up and left in the PTO mailbox.  Just a small way of thanking them for thanking us.

I used my new Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media die for the cutout and my Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft Die S202.  The flower comes from Tim's Tattered Florals die; everything is on white cardstock that I colored using a number of Distress Inks.

I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog: Challenge: Simon brand products.  As mentioned above, I used the Thanks Craft Die S202.

Happy (First) Mother's Day to Becca

Today is the first time that Becca will celebrate Mother's Day.  I made this card for her while Oliver was staying with us for a few days.  I used a tutorial from Naniwale's blog to make a mailable card display.  This way, she can use the card as a photo "frame" as well.

The "so darn cute" piece is on an Action Wobble to make it even cuter.  I took the photo of Oliver, my grandson, a week ago, and I thought it would be perfect on this card.

I had the great idea to type out the words for the tag in Microsoft Word and then to print it on plain paper.  I then taped the tag exactly over the print on the paper and ran it through again.  Great idea, huh?
